Chuck LaMar was the GM of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays from their inception until October 2005, when he was fired by Stuart Sternberg, the team's new principal owner.

BBTF's general opinion is that, excepting The Kazmir Trade, Chuck was a disaster, striking out again and again on the player acquisition and development front. After yet another incomprehensible D-Rays transaction in 2005, the Transaction Oracle felt compelled to reprint this letter from Billy to Chuck.
