Hank Aaron

From Wiki Gonzalez

Hank Aaron is the greatest home run hitter ever, a distinction he will probably hold on to even after someone hits #756.

Many believe he should be commissioner of Major League Baseball instead of Bud Selig. (Actually, many people believe a ham sandwich would make a better commissioner than Selig.) He has been an executive with the Braves since his retirement as an active player, and is currently their vice president of player development.

Appropriately, Aaron was listed first in the baseball encyclopedia until David Aardsma started pitching for the Giants in 2004.

Hank even appeared as himself in an episode of "Happy Days" and had a candy bar named after him. Damn, that's cool.

As a player, he was nicknamed Hammerin' Hank and Bad Henry.

Steven Goldman, of the YES network and Baseball Prospectus, wrote an excellent tribute to him in the spring of 2005 at the Prospectus website.

Aaron's home run power allegedly derove from his extremely powerful wrists. These wrists were developed when playing in the Negro Leagues and elsewhere as a youngster, where he batted from the right-handed side of the plate, but with his left hand above his right. While this theory is interesting, it ignores the fact that Aaron had a voluminous butt.
