John Brattain tribute thread

The John Brattain tribute thread was a BBTF thread on March 24, 2009 created to discuss the too-early death of longtime Primate John Brattain. The announcement of the terrible news was posted by studes to The Hardball Times site; John had contributed pieces to THT and its annual books since 2005.

During the thread, many Primates chimed in from all over cyberspace to discuss their encounters (IRL and otherwise) with John, and the thread quickly surpassed 400 posts in little over an afternoon. Many used the thread to recount their favorite Brattain posts, link to their favorite Brattain comments in other threads, and compose Brattain-like jokes in accordance with his sense of wit, so it's worth reading by itself.
