Jon Daly

Jon Daly (aka Gary Geiger Counter) is a baseball writer, blogger, and Primer's unofficial unabomber. If you've ever tried to log onto BTF and gotten:

He also ran for president in 2004 with vice presidential candidate Chris Dial in the Daly/Dial campaign. Though they did not carry any states, they did succeed in capturing up to 30% of the votes in the Daly family.

He is also a former Gulf War veteran who spent about ten years in and out of college before graduating. He served in intel, and used to be able to read Arabic and speak a little of it. He has since lost much of that language ability due to years of not needing/using it. His ability to blow things to smithereens is still keen as he uses BTF to keep his skills sharp.

He resides in New England, is a SABR member, and is a fan of the Boston Red Sox.

Baseball Think Factory has been giving Primates nightmares over the last few days. Daly doubtlessly is responsible.

On the morning of May 31, 2005 Primates found the following message at BTF: "The hard drive on our server crashed this morning. I am in the process of installing and reconfiguring a replacement drive. The site will be back online ASAP.

Jon Daly likes to refer to the Friends of Jon Daly occasionally on BTF; using their nicknames.

On November 29th 2006 Baseball Think Factory has disappeared! Jim Furtado, covering Daly's ass, posted the following cover story: "The site is currently in domain registrar limbo between my current registrar (godaddy.com) and my former registrar (registerfly.com). I've been told an error occurred during the transfer process. As a result, although the site shows current and up-to-date at godaddy.com, somehow the record was/is still controlled by registerfly.com. I've been assured by both registrars that the problem soon will be rectified."

Long tenured Primates know the evil, insidious work of Daly from long experience. Doubtlessly he is gleefully rubbing his hands together cackling wickedly while he contentedly wallows in the knowledge that he has once again struck at the heart of Primerdom.
