Lock The State

From Wiki Gonzalez

Lock the state means to get the job done. Literally, fix the situation.

On August 24th, 2004 (http://web.archive.org/web/20041228040504/http://www.baseballthinkfactory.org/files/primer/gamechatter_discussion/22716//), Sean McNally started a Game Chatter thread for a game between the Yankees and the Indians with an open letter to Javier Vazquez:

Dear Javy, Home runs are bad. Strikeouts are good. Signed, All my fantasy teams

This was translated into Spanish by SG, and followed by several more open letters to Vazquez in Spanish.

In post #46 (http://www.baseballthinkfactory.org/files/primer/gamechatter_discussion/22716/P200/#45), RB in the UK wrote:

Javy, ese turno era sumamente inferior a los dos anteriores. Soy seguro que usted lo sabe. Fije la situación. También, veintiuno funcionamientos caseros son lejanos, lejos también muchos. Intente guardarla debajo de veintitrés para la estación.

Larry Mahnken translated this back into English (http://www.baseballthinkfactory.org/files/primer/gamechatter_discussion/22716/P200/#54):

Javy, that turn was extremely inferior to both previous. I am safe that you know it. Fix the situation. Also, veintiuno homemade operations are distant, far also many. Try to keep it underneath twenty-three for the station.

Then translated it "into Spanish again, back into English, back to Spanish, back to English, then to Japanese and back" (http://www.baseballthinkfactory.org/files/primer/gamechatter_discussion/22716/P200/#73):

Javy was something before the both which the return very are inferior. I knowing that am safe. Lock the state. In addition, in addition as for operation the large number whose at house del veintiuno is distant it leads directly. Try the fact that it maintains that under 23 for the place.

and commented:

Lock the state has to become a running gag. If it doesn’t, I’ll be VERY disappointed in each and every one of you.
