Minnesota Twins

The Minnesota Twins are an American League ballclub. Created from the ashes of the ghastly old Washington Senators in 1961, they were successful almost at once and have provided fans with pennants in 1965, 1987, and 1991 (winning the World Series those last two seasons). They have made three consecutive playoff appearances in the 2000s.

The Twins home park is the heinous Metrodome. However, there is serious talk in Minnesota about building a brand-new unroofed ballpark for them.

Currently (2005) a byword on Primer for "Anti-Moneyball" principles, as they appear to have no clue how to promote players but win their division annually anyway. Curiously, they have very good draft and player-development skills. The GM responsible is Terry Ryan.
