Shit doesn't work

From Wiki Gonzalez

In Moneyball, Billy Beane was quoted by Michael Lewis as saying "My shit doesn't work in the playoffs." Beane's argument was that the tactics he used to find undervalued players and construct a quality team at a lower cost over a 162-game season wouldn't be able to help the team in a short series, where luck played a larger role.

Those who disagree with him argue that he doesn't put enough emphasis on finding players who can perform in the pressure of the playoffs, leading to things like Terrence Long dropping a fly ball in 2000, Jeremy Giambi not bothering to slide in 2001, and the Baserunning Follies of 2003.

In any case, the quote has a certain je ne sais quoi that's made it appealing to Primates to comment on Billy Beane's moves, or other times that it fits.

Jon Daly's shit doesn't work at the final table.
